How To Create an iPod Costume.

  1. Get some box that is at least a little more than half covering your body. Something that ends right above the knees is long enough. Go down farther than the knees and it will look a little bad and you can barely walk. iPods are thin, small, and conveinient, so your costume shouldn't be really wide and tall. Also, please make it fat enough to sit down but if it doesnt work get a fairly slim box and then try creasing it to be able to sit down, or make a slit where your butt is to allow the costume to bend easily. Don't worry about color, we will get to that later.
  2. Try on the box for good fit. Open the flaps on the bottom as well. If it holds on to your body but it doesn't fall out, you got a good fit. Or you can go ahead, simply cut holes wide enough for your legs. Meausure your legs first, add two inches and that's how you are gonna cut the circles. If you feel it is still too small keep adding inches.
  3. Experiment with closing the flaps over your head and then pulling the box over your head. This is generally how its gonna fit. Don't worry if the front of your head is squished, we will cut the front later.
  4. Take the box and then, at the top of the box near the side and near the center, make a 14 or 15 or whatever's accurate length for you line. Then make another line to make a vertex the same length, then connect the same length lines to make a square. Then cut out the square, just on one side, not on both. This will be the "screen" and your head will poke out here.
  5. Measure your arms for the place where your arms will come out. Do the same thing with your legs, measure around your arms and then make an extra two inches, that will be your holes for the arms. Do on both sides of box.
  6. Make the wires by getting tough wire or rope. Paint or get the rope in white or black. Then use papier mache to make earplug shapes giant enough and tie the rope very well around the earplugs then gorilla glue the end of the rope without the earplug to the upper sides of the box.
  7. Make sure again that the leg holes are cut, the earplugs are ready, the "screen" is ready and so is the arm holes. We are moving on to paint. Get your favorite neon color such as cobalt blue, electric yellow, screaming green, hot pink, bright red etc. Then paint the hole box that color but leave a white circle under the screen. Even the back and sides of the screen, paint everything except the earplugs. Set to dry, then get shiny silver paint and line the edges with silver.
  8. Get a heavy permanent black marker then make the arrows and stuff on the circle of the iPod. You are now an iPod for halloween!
